The District

On my journey back to Tejas I visited Shomon in the country's hub of institutionalization, Washington DC. Did you know that the official license plate there says "Taxation Without Representation"? I assumed it was one of those plates you had to pay extra for, like Quilters do it with Needles, but no, as Shom pointed out, you have to pay not to have TWR on your car. The district has definitely been shafted by not being a state. But I don't live there, and it isn't my constitutional rights that are being violated Every Day, so I can just enjoy the museums. For free!

I visited in the Hirshhorn (above), and the Sackler and the Freer. And got to see a lot of great sculpture by David Smith, who I really dig.
